Sage Kitchen Privacy Policy
Effective: 2026-05-02
Last updated: 2026-05-02
Who we are
Sage Kitchen is a recipe and meal-planning app for households, developed by Dustin Guerrero, an individual developer. This policy describes how Sage Kitchen handles your data.
For privacy questions, deletion requests, or anything else covered below, email dustin@dguerrero.dev.
What we collect
Account identifiers (Sign in with Apple)
When you sign in, Apple sends us:
- An opaque user identifier that lets us recognize you on future sign-ins.
- An email address — either your real email or, if you choose Hide My Email, the per-app private relay address Apple generates for you. We treat both the same way.
- Your display name, if you choose to provide one.
Recipes and household content
The recipes, lists, and household data you create in the app:
- Recipes you create, paste, or import — including title, ingredients, instructions, source URL, your edits, and notes.
- Recipe images: when you import a recipe from a URL, the source image is fetched once and stored in Firebase Storage so the recipe loads quickly and remains intact if the source page changes or disappears.
- Grocery lists and meal-plan entries.
- Your household — which household you belong to and the other members in it.
Diagnostics
We use Sentry to track crashes and errors so we can fix bugs:
- Crash and error events with stack traces, OS version, device model, and app version.
- A per-request correlation ID, your user ID, and your household ID, attached to error events as tags. This lets us match errors that span the iOS app and our Cloud Functions.
- No screen recordings, no session replay, no behavioral analytics.
What we do not collect
- No location data.
- No contacts, calendar, or photo library access.
- No microphone or camera access.
- No health or fitness data.
- No payment information.
- No advertising identifiers, and no third-party advertising SDKs.
- No tracking of your activity across other companies’ apps or websites.
How we use your data
Only to operate the app:
- Authenticate you and keep you signed in.
- Store and sync your recipes, grocery lists, and meal plans across your devices.
- Share recipes and lists with members of your household.
- Parse recipes from URLs and pasted text via our Cloud Function.
- Diagnose crashes and errors.
We do not sell your personal data, share it with advertisers, or use it for marketing.
Sub-processors
We use the following services to operate the app. Your data flows through them as part of normal operation:
Data retention and deletion
- Account, recipe, and household data are retained while your account is active.
- You can delete your account from inside the app: Settings → Delete Account. Account deletion removes your user record and your household membership. Recipes you added to a household stay in that household for the remaining members; if you want them removed, delete the recipes (or the entire household, if you’re the only member) before deleting your account.
- Sentry error events expire under Sentry’s default retention (approximately 90 days) and are not retrievable after that.
- You can also email dustin@dguerrero.dev to request deletion.
Children
Sage Kitchen is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us data, email dustin@dguerrero.dev and we will delete it.
Your rights
- Access, correct, or delete your data via in-app Settings or by emailing dustin@dguerrero.dev.
- Sign in with Apple users can revoke the app’s access at any time from iOS Settings → your Apple ID → Sign in with Apple → Sage Kitchen.
Changes to this policy
We will update the Last updated date at the top of this page when this policy changes. Material changes will be surfaced in the app before they take effect.
